Hold the Presses....this just in....
Alan Epich of Mokena,and Partner,Mike Davis of
Homewood took 1st place at the Inaugural North American Ice Fishing
Championship (NAIFC) Series on Lake Catherine in Antioch,Illinois.
Epich and Davis eeked out the victory over 2007
NAIFC Team of the Year,Myron Gilbert and Joe Pikulski of Brooklyn,Michigan.
The champions total weight was 15 Blue Gills at
5.25 lbs.
Mike Davis caught the second biggest fish of
the tournament .....a 9 " Blue Gill at .52 lbs.
Gibert and Pikulski's had 15 Blue Gills at
5.22lbs.
Other notable teams at the tourney were Mike
McNett and Tony Boshold....the 2006 NAIFC Champions. McNett is also the
Captain of the United States Ice Fishing Team...which competes in
International competition.
